January 28, 2009

For the next few weeks leading up  to our next event, Sparkling Fresh artists in the Februrary show will be featured at Phillips Art Expert, a Phillip de Pury’s website.

Our first featured artist is Linda Gallagher — you can check out her page right here.

And here’s featured work from Linda in the upcoming show:

New Sparkling Fresh for a New Year – Feb 26-28

January 23, 2009

So Sparkling Fresh #7 is happening….and soon! (End of February)

We’re trying a new format (3 days, several events, 1 auction) and a brand new space (NY Studio Gallery), and a sparkling slate of 5 new artists.

The event is curated by Andrea Hill (who works at Phillips de Pury during the day!) and is going to be very very cool.

Also, in honor of our insolvent financial system, we’ll have pieces of art starting at under $100…and best of all, they’re paintings!

Stay tuned for details about the event schedule and other such stuff.  And you can always check here for the dates.

Sorry we’ve been in hibernation mode for awhile….

Sparkling Fresh VI – March 29th!

March 10, 2008

So it turns out blogging is hard work. Sorry for my lack of posting.  But! Lots of exciting news on the horizon, including our next event on Saturday, March 29th, 2008. Armory Show Weekend!

See the new invite here.

When I have some time I’ll write all about my dinner with Jeffrey Deitch….

Next Sparkling Fresh Event is on Nov. 3rd

October 16, 2007

We have finally confirmed the date for the next Sparkling Fresh exhibition and silent auction, and it’s only 3 weeks away.  It’s a Saturday, which will probably make it the most fun NYC art party EVER.  View the invite here.

All Press Is Good Press…..

October 16, 2007

I totally meant to post on this ages ago:

Sparkling Fresh artist Jordan Eagles had a truly gorgeous show up in Hartford over the summer, and that’s not all….he also got protested.  We’ll let the protesters speak for themselves.  I’m sure it has only increased his prices…..

Guy Stanley Philoche/Kids with Cameras

May 16, 2007

Now, Guy isn’t technically a Sparkling Fresh artist–He hasn’t been in one of our shows, but that’s partly because his work now sells for considerably more than our maximum bids. However, Guy is a good friend of Sparkling Fresh, and as such I wanted to promote his big opening at the Point of View Gallery in Chelsea. It starts May 30, and is being done in conjunction with some new photos by the woman who runs Kids with Cameras.

Guy’s work is gorgeous–see for yourself:

gallery onetwentyeight show featuring Lee Everett & Justin Nissley

May 16, 2007

So two more Sparkling Fresh artists are in a show at gallery onetwentyeight right now. Lee makes his fantastics paintings by actually injecting paint into the canvas. Justin uses extracts images from pornography to make brilliant digital collages. The show runs through June 2.

Jordan Eagles @ Merge Gallery – Til May 19th

May 14, 2007

Be sure to check out Sparkling Fresh artist Jordan Eagles’ solo show at the Merge Gallery at 205 W 2oth Street.   It’s been up for a bit, but closes on May 19th, so hurry!  Jordan is a fantastic painter who works with interesting materials (ummm….blood?) and he has been deserving of a solo show for quite some time.

Here’s one of my favorites of his new series, FK:

Sparkling Fresh IV Photos

May 14, 2007

Our May 10th event was a huge success. The space was amazing, and many people commented that the collection of artwork was the best yet. Thanks to the Sparkling Fresh artists who participated, and to all of the 350+ people who attended the event. And special thanks to Mae de Ouro and Singa Beer for sponsoring the event.

Here’s some photos of the event:
