Guy Stanley Philoche/Kids with Cameras

May 16, 2007

Now, Guy isn’t technically a Sparkling Fresh artist–He hasn’t been in one of our shows, but that’s partly because his work now sells for considerably more than our maximum bids. However, Guy is a good friend of Sparkling Fresh, and as such I wanted to promote his big opening at the Point of View Gallery in Chelsea. It starts May 30, and is being done in conjunction with some new photos by the woman who runs Kids with Cameras.

Guy’s work is gorgeous–see for yourself:

gallery onetwentyeight show featuring Lee Everett & Justin Nissley

May 16, 2007

So two more Sparkling Fresh artists are in a show at gallery onetwentyeight right now. Lee makes his fantastics paintings by actually injecting paint into the canvas. Justin uses extracts images from pornography to make brilliant digital collages. The show runs through June 2.

Jordan Eagles @ Merge Gallery – Til May 19th

May 14, 2007

Be sure to check out Sparkling Fresh artist Jordan Eagles’ solo show at the Merge Gallery at 205 W 2oth Street.   It’s been up for a bit, but closes on May 19th, so hurry!  Jordan is a fantastic painter who works with interesting materials (ummm….blood?) and he has been deserving of a solo show for quite some time.

Here’s one of my favorites of his new series, FK:

Sparkling Fresh IV Photos

May 14, 2007

Our May 10th event was a huge success. The space was amazing, and many people commented that the collection of artwork was the best yet. Thanks to the Sparkling Fresh artists who participated, and to all of the 350+ people who attended the event. And special thanks to Mae de Ouro and Singa Beer for sponsoring the event.

Here’s some photos of the event:
